Another dealer acquisition update. News has filtered through to Laurie Dealer at Laurie Dealer HQ, that Iveco-dealer Guest Trucks has bought fellow dealer Sherwood Truck & Van for an undisclosed sum.

It comes just 18 months after it took over the Iveco interest in TC Harrison, and opened a new site in Leicester. Sherwood brings dealerships in Alfreton, Nottingham, Sheffield, and Stoke-on-Trent, plus three authorised repairs to the Guest Group as a result.
Guest Trucks now covers the entire Midlands, east to Peterborough, north to South Yorkshire and west to Telford. By Laurie Dealer's reckoning Guest Trucks is now one of the industries biggest players.
Fellow North East Truck & Van covers a wide expanse, but in terms of turnover (the deal means Guest Group turns over £110m) Laurie Dealer believes it is on a par with fellow Midlands business and Scania dealer Keltruck, multi-franchise business Imperial Commercials, and Ballyvesey, which owns Intercounty, HTC Group and West Pennine Trucks, as the UK largest dealer groups.
It'll be interesting to see how this pans out. Laurie Dealer wishes Sherwood's boss Terry Waterfall and director Paul Hemp a long and happy retirement.
Jobs a good un.
