South Eastern and Metropolitan deputy traffic commissioner Christopher Heaps has confirmed his original decision to indefinitely disqualify Harcol director Miranda Jones from holding or obtaining a licence after she failed to appear before him for further consideration.
Jones had successfully appealed against the disqualification order in so far as the Transport Tribunal remitted the case to Heaps for reconsid-eration. But the tribunal had warned Jones that Heaps' reconsideration would raise significant issues that had arisen since her appointment as director, which she must be prepared to address.
It said it was clear Jones had been a director at Harcol for at least six months, during which time she took no steps to change the company's registered address or assume control of its O-licence.
Heaps said Jones's failure to attend meant he was unable to raise any of these issues, therefore he could see no reason to change his original decision.
Heaps said that Jones had also failed to appear before North Western TC Beverley Bell in June when Harcol's application for a 20-vehicle licence in that traffic area was refused.
