Dyserth, Prestatyn-based Harper Haulage is to shut up shop on Friday 18 April, with the loss of 20 jobs. Owner Tim Harper says rising fuel costs have meant it is no longer viable to run the haulage operation.
"We're getting out while we still can. We cannot see the situation [with high fuel prices] improving."
Harper adds the company had plenty of work for its 22 trucks, but was unable to remain profitable despite a trunover of about £2m. The trucks and other assets of the business will be auctioned off on 26 April.
