At MAXUS, our primary goal is to offer low emission vehicles to drivers and businesses without compromising on performance. As the UK moves towards phasing out internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles over the next decade, electric vehicles (EVs) are at the forefront of our agenda, and we have a comprehensive range of MAXUS EVs for all driver and business types should you be ready for EV adoption.
However, we recognise that not all businesses are ready for the transition to electric just yet. But this doesn’t mean that you can't implement sustainable changes and reduce your company’s carbon footprint. One of the most immediate and impactful steps for those relying on ICE vehicles is switching to Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that all MAXUS diesel vehicles are now 100% HVO compliant. This is a significant step in our ongoing commitment to greener motoring.
For those unfamiliar with HVO fuel this is a paraffinic bio-based liquid fuel derived from renewable and sustainable sources such as vegetable oils and animal fats and offers a greener alternative to traditional diesel fuels. HVO fuel can be used in some diesel engines based on engine manufacturer, either alone or mixed with fossil fuels (petrodiesel), without any vehicle or engine modifications. Additionally, HVO provides the same level of efficiency and power as conventional diesel fuel, so you don’t have to compromise on vehicle performance or range.
When used in its purest form, HVO can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% when compared to traditional diesel. This makes it an excellent interim solution for businesses on the path to zero-emission driving, offering immediate environmental benefits and giving businesses the time to plan and execute a broader transition to electric vehicles.
