MV Commercial supplies Neil Sullivan & Sons with three trucks
The deal is for two new DAFs and one used Scania

Preston-based Harrisons Transport has taken delivery of five new Volvo FH 460 tractor units with I-Save after averaging 11mpg with their turbo compound trucks bought back in 2019.
The trucks, with Globetrotter XL cabs, are new additions to the fleet and were supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials. Harrisons will put two of them to work puling refrigerated trailers with the other three being used for container work.
Lee Harrison, owner of Harrisons Transport, says: “The fuel returns we’ve seen from these Volvo turbo compound engines is very good. We originally took on eight back in 2019 and they’ve averaged around 11mpg, which we are very happy with.
“We work our trucks hard; the three on container duties will be covering around 130,000km each year, and the two pulling reefers will be more towards 200,000 km per year with the drivers working four days on, four days off.”
The units are supported by a Volvo Gold Contract with servicing and maintenance to be carried out at Thomas Hardie’s Preston depot.
The cabs have been specified with a Twin Bed Living package, with reclining lower bunk, fridge / freezer, and audio and
media package, including 9-inch side display with touchscreen.
“The drivers love the cabs,” Harrison added. “We like to take care of our staff and there’s no
doubt that these new Volvos are very comfy trucks for them to be out on the road in.”
