Hartshorne celebrates 50 years with Volvo

Hartshorne Group held a business summit with Volvo to celebrate more than 50 years of the partnership, with the event bringing together key decision makers from across the Midlands.

Attendees to Hartshorne’s Birmingham branch included Helene Mellquist, president of Volvo Trucks Europe; Per Carlsson, global senior vice president of strategy & business; Lisa Ekelund, chief financial officer Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland; and Ian Wrench retail development director Volvo Trucks UK & Ireland.

Martin Cronin, MD at Hartshorne Group, said: “We are extremely proud to have developed strong links with so many great business is the Midlands. These companies form the backbone for our economy; not only for the jobs and turnover they generate, but also for the vital role they play in providing services to other businesses.”

Topics discussed included the importance of the transport infrastructure in the Midlands as a central hub for the UK, along with working towards a ‘greener’ UK, fuel economy and road safety.

Steve Benton Transport runs a fleet of 16 Volvo FH, with his most recent purchase being a FH500 6x2 tractor complete with Globetrotter cab and sliding fifth wheel.

Steve Benton, MD of Steve Benton Transport, has used Hartshorne for 30 years; “They are a great company, who will always go the extra mile to look after you. If you need something they will work hard to find a solutions, which is why they have lasted the distance.”

Benton added: “We’ve found the Volvo product itself to be fantastic; it’s reliable and the miles per gallon are phenomenal.

Cronin concluded: We’d like to thank all of our loyal customers who have given us such great support over the years, including those companies who accepted new vehicles at the summit.”
