Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL) has picked up the contract to deliver Asda's non-food shopping to its customers.
The distribution company will collect from more than 350 Asda stores, offering 24-hour and 48-hour deliveries for parcels ordered online or at a specific store. HDNL says, as part of the deal, it will be delivering during the week and on Saturdays.
Brian Gaunt, chief executive of HDNL, says Asda's success is built on giving customers what they want. "Our delivery proposition can help them meet that promise," he says.
HDNL has also announced that it has retained its contract with Home Retail Group, which includes Argos and Homebase. Part of the new contract will be estimated delivery times sent via texts to customers phones. HDNL would not reveal the value or length of the deal with Asda.
