MAN Truck & Bus UK has appointed Matt Squires head of its MAN TopUsed division. Squires, currently head of own retail at MAN Truck & Bus UK, will take up the position once a successor for his role is found.

MAN TopUsed sells used commercial vehicles covering all brands and models in more than 30 countries from 36 MAN TopUsed Centres. The UK has two centres in Manchester and Swindon.

Simon Elliott, UK MD, said: “Matt is already an integral member of the senior team and I am delighted he has agreed to take responsibility for this part of our business. His appointment demonstrates MAN’s commitment to developing the capability of our company through personal development.”

Squires added: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to be head of TopUsed. The sector is an important part of our business and I am looking forward to developing my career and opportunities with MAN by being responsible for such an influential department in the business.”

MAN Truck & Bus has also appointed a former engineer as sales executive at Leeds-based dealership Steadplan. Ian Kilmurray began his career in haulage working on axles for buses and trucks. He then switched to a sales role for Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles and the Ford Motor Company.

“I am excited to be working for a brand that is pioneering in its field,” he said. “I have strong market knowledge from working with large companies. I also have experience in the van market, so the launch of the new MAN TGE is exciting. It will be a great addition to the brand.”
