Cambridgeshire haulier Heathcliff Haulage has entered administration and ceased trading.

A spokesman for the firm confirmed it had ceased trading and Harrisons has been appointed as administrator, but no one was available to comment further.

The Palletways member was authorised to run up to 30 vehicles and 20 trailers from a site in Boleness Road, Wisbech.

In October 2012, Heathcliff had its O-licence curtailed from 34 vehicles by deputy Eastern TC Miles Dorrington, following a visit by a DVSA (formerly Vosa and the DSA) vehicle examiner which uncovered a series of maintenance failings.

A driver employed by Heathcliff was also convicted and fined for two drivers’ hours offences in August 2012.

The business was sold in a pre-pack deal in 2010 after it had incurred significant debts to HMRC.
