Parcel courier Hermes is to open a new distribution hub in Warrington as part of plans to expand its network of DCs in the UK to 20 by September.
The 100,000 sq ft Warrington South Distribution Park hub is part of a revamp of Hermes' DCs that will also see it open a brand new 45,000 sq ft hub in Crawley, West Sussex, by the autumn - creating 34 new jobs.
The parcel firm is also relocating its facilities in Rotherham to the 35,600 sq ft Vector 31 Business Park, replacing a smaller facility in South Yorkshire and improving motorway access.
Roadtransport.com also understands that Hermes will also move to a new, larger, site in Bradford by the end of August.
Carole Woodhead, CEO of Hermes, says: “These latest improvements to our hub and depot infrastructure mean we possess the necessary capacity within our network to achieve our future growth plans and are well prepared to handle high volumes during the forthcoming peak period.”
