To improve operator safety and productivity, Hiab has launched the MyHiab app. The platform gives operators of crane trucks access to the resources they need to troubleshoot any equipment issues and if necessary, allows them to call their local Hiab service centre. Hiab can contact operators directly with the information they need about the equipment and this helps operators to schedule proactive maintenance.

Michael Bruninx, senior vice president, services, Hiab, said: “Hiab operators are our biggest fans and the most influential advocates of our solutions. This app is designed to support and simplify their workday and is our way of giving something back. It also makes it possible for us to reach them directly and learn more about their challenges to create better solutions for tomorrow.”

The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for Apple and Android devices. Several different languages are available so operators in Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and the US will be able to use the app in their preferred language. Later in the year more languages will be added to service different markets.

The first version of the app includes content on Hiab loader cranes, multilift demountables, and Moffett truck mounted forklifts. There is also content on other Hiab load handling equipment. As well as giving operators a better understanding of their equipment, the app provides encrypted data to Hiab. This can be used by Hiab’s services and product development team to improve future equipment to suit customer needs.

Bruninx added: “MyHiab makes it possible to have daily touchpoints with our users, not limited to visits to workshops or on-road assistance. We aim to have an industry leading service experience and this is a natural evolvement of our HIPERFORM offering.”

HIPERFORM is a suite of solutions designed to maximise Hiab equipment lifetime value. These services aim to optimise performance and productivity of equipment, operators and fleets.
