The administrator for Highland Quality Construction says the business and assets are up for sale.

KPMG says it was appointed to the Inverness business on 2 June (CM 10 June) when the engineering firm faltered due to money owed by contractors and cashflow issues.

The civil engineering and construction firm, which had an annual turnover of £20m, ran a transport arm comprising 60 vehicles and 22 trailers.

Blair Nimmo, head of restructuring for KPMG in Scotland, says: "Highland Quality Construction experienced significant trading losses and cashflow pressures and was owed significant amounts by contractors. Despite having an excellent reputation, it has suffered from the downturn and the difficult economic conditions. We are working with government agencies to ensure employees' issues are dealt with as best as possible."
