Devon-based Hottot Transport has taken delivery of six Volvo FH 6x2 tag axle tractor units from Stuarts Truck and Bus in Exeter.

The vehicles have Globetrotter XL cabs, Dynafleet telematics, I-Shift transmissions, leather upholstery, air-suspended driver seats and fridges. They will serve the main quarries in the area and deliver about 3,500 tonnes of aggregate and sand a week to customers within a 100-mile radius.

Hottot Transport bought its first 460hp FH12 from Stuarts Truck and Bus in 2010 and all but two of its current 20-strong fleet are Volvos.

One of the partners at Hottot Transport, Rob Hottot said: “We’ve taken these six top-specification 500hp Volvo FH tractor units on a three-year contract hire deal as it offers us fixed monthly costs and gold R&M support.

“Both Volvo and Stuarts have looked after us well and we’re not going to fix something that isn’t broken.”
