HRVS Group operations director Keith Sims believes the Chinese Sinotruk could prove to be incredibly popular in the UK construction industry.
Commenting on the truck, which is being assembled in Ireland by Harris Assemblers, he said: “I think it will be a game changer in the UK 8-wheel tipper market, there’s no two ways about it.” Sims is impressed with the “Swedish cab, German engine, German/Dutch chassis design,” stating that “it looks really European”.
He added: “There is still quite a following for the Hino product, and the Sinotruk is like a refined Hino.” The Harris Group is yet to confirm if or when the Sinotruk will be sold in the UK.
