Hunter Transport buys Renault

Fife-based Gordon Hunter Transport has taken delivery of a Range T, citing the first-class service received from Renault Trucks Scotland as the deal clincher.

The 26-tonne Range T430 6x2 rigid with sleeper cab is fitted with a 31ft fully galvanised curtainsided body from Lothian Vehicle bodybuilders.

It also features a 2-tonne Dhollandia Cantilever tail-lift, which forms a complete rear closure on the vehicle, as well as internal load restraints and v-groove side rave.

Hunter said: “I’ve run Renault Midlums in the past and had no trouble at all. I’ve also received first-class service from Renault Trucks Scotland so moving to the new Euro-6 vehicles was a logical next step for me.”

He said the Range T had covered 14,500km in its first four weeks – including runs to Southampton, Swansea and Inverness – and fuel consumption was 12.5mpg. Hunter said he expected the figure to improve as the engine runs in.
