Spanish bus and coach manufacturer Irizar Group showed an electric low-entry truck at the Solutrans Show in Lyon this week.

The ietruck, which is available with either a full-electric powertrain or a gas-powered hybrid-electric range extender, is offered in 4x2 and 6x2 configurations. The two-axle version has a 160kW electric motor and a battery capacity of 340kWh, giving a range of up to 250km between charges. The 6x2 variant is powered by a 240kW e-motor and has the same range.

The ietruck has a 370mm high entry step, which its manufacturer claims to be the lowest on the market.
It has undergone extensive trials in 15 European cities, and is about to enter series production.
