Consett, County Durham-based Elddis Transport has taken two 18-tonne Eurocargo rigids, a move that signifies the reintroduction of the Iveco marque to its fleet of 160 trucks.

The operator took a seed vehicle from North East Truck & Van for three months before adding the trucks, which come with two-pedal EuroTronic transmissions and curtain-sided bodies from Dependable Bodies in Gateshead.

They also feature 1,500kg tail-lifts and surround camera systems to aid road safety and manoeuvring.

Elddis Transport will use the trucks to make regional deliveries from its facilities in Heywood and Worksop.

Nigel Cook, MD at Elddis Transport, said: “The initial seed vehicle really impressed us and highlighted the Eurocargo’s suitability for our operation.”
