IVECO has become the official partner of new Formula One team Alfa Romeo Racing, providing the team with Stralis trucks and Daily vans.
The racing team, formerly known as the Swiss-based Sauber Motorsport team, has been rebranded this year and will use 12 Stralis and a Daily van throughout the season.
The vehicles will be used to transport the team’s equipment to all the Formula One races in the European portion of the 2019 season.
The vehicles’ fuel economy and low total cost of ownership were key factors in Alfa Romeo Racing’s choice of truck partner and because they are linked through being part of the Fiat-Chrysler/CNH Industrial family.
IVECO Switzerland business director Thomas Rücker said: “We are proud to be entering into this partnership with Alfa Romeo Racing to provide transportation for the team’s equipment. IVECO has a long tradition of partnerships and participation in world sport, particularly racing, where our trucks compete in the Dakar Rally and the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. We look forward to the new racing season and wish Alfa Romeo Racing success.”
Alfa Romeo Racing team principal Frédéric Vasseur said: “It is a pleasure to welcome IVECO to Alfa Romeo Racing as official truck partner. Having a reliable and safe means of transportation for our equipment is an essential aspect of our logistical operations in Formula One. With IVECO, we have an experienced partner by our side and we look forward to this collaboration.”
