Adding to the S-Way range, Iveco has launched its new all-electric S-eWay rigid range at IAA Transportation. The S-eWay rigid is available in a number of different configurations to suit various applications and bodybuilding requirements. This includes 4x2 or 6x2 versions, different suspension types, cab types and wheelbases. It can also tow trailers to achieve a GCW or 44-tonne.

Luca Sra, president truck business unit, Iveco Group, said: “With the S-eWay Rigid we are completing our S-eWay range, expanding our offer of zero-carbon solutions to give our customers the freedom to choose the one that best suits them. This new vehicle provides an answer to our loyal customers in the rigid segment, who look to IVECO for the robustness, performance and versatility of our vehicles and the capillarity and expertise of our network. The S-eWay Rigid capitalises on our electro-mobility know-how and on the model year 24 innovations to offer them a zero-emission solution that delivers on all these demands.”

The vehicle can be specified with four, five or seven 70kWh batteries offering total capacity of either 280kWh, 350kWh or 490kWh. With the maximum number of batteries, range figures are up to 400km. The S-eWay rigid can be charged at up to 350kW to add 200km of range during a driver’s 45 minute break. The truck is fitted with a dual-motor eAxle by FPT Industrial to generate 480kW of power and 1,800Nm of torque.

There’s three power take off options available: low voltage, high voltage or mechanical. The low voltage PTO is ideal for equipment such as tail lifts. The high voltage PTO offers up to 20kW power which is suitable for refrigerated distribution. The mechanical PTO provides up to 60kW of power mechanically or using a hydraulic pump drive. This solution can facilitate refuse collection, skip and hookloader, crane and tipper applications. It can also be mounted in three different locations to make it easier to mount the required bodywork.
