IVECO has a very special model of S-Way on show at RTX; the only UK registered Turbo Star limited edition. Number 95 of 180, the 570bhp flagship tractor unit is going into service next week pulling a moving floor trailer for long-standing IVECO operator RD Williams.
Paying homage to the famous IVECO Turbo Star V8 from the 1980s, the modern interpretation features striped graphics, custom side skirts, sun visor, suzie bar, catwalk, side exit exhaust pipe and light bars. On the inside there are special Turbo Star seat covers and bedding.
Andy Williams was a big fan of the original truck when he was growing up, and when he heard about the new special edition he knew he wanted one. Bal Singh of Guest Truck & Van and IVECO UK managing director Vincenzo Nicolo made enquiries and were able to secure one of the rare trucks for Andy, who is set to add some additional equipment to the truck via Guest including Turbo Star-branded rear lockers.
IVECO is running a competition at RTX in which attendees must guess the number of balloons in an S-Way 460 CNG with the winner receiving a Ferrari driving experience. Also on show is the new 4.25-tonne eDaily, now part of IVECO’s Driveaway programme, with pre-built chassis available including dropsiders, tippers and caged tippers – all with fully electric drivelines.
