Vehicle, asset and driver management solution provider, Jaama, is due to unveil its new MyTechnican App at the Road Transport Expo this week. While the app is set to be fully launched later this year, RTX attendees will be the first to experience the app’s features.

Mark Francis, Jaama chief product officer, said: “The new MyTechnician App is the result of close collaboration with our customers and a clear understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced in modern workshops. We've developed the app using agile principles to ensure it delivers real-world value and enhanced user experience from day one. RTX is the perfect platform to showcase the progress we've made and engage directly with users as we move towards official launch later this year.”

Based at stand N43, the Jaama team will be on hand for live demonstrations and Q&A sessions across the three days. The app is targeted at making life easier and more efficient for technicians and supervisors when it comes to compliance and maintenance work.

To design a product that meets the needs of the market, Jaama invested heavily in a collaborative customer feedback cycle. Research during development included looking at the user experience and working out how to reduce administrative burdens while sustaining data integrity and workshop visibility.

The MyTechnican app does what you’d expect it to, the digital system manages workshop workloads. Its functions include creating and confirming bookings, logging defects, adding labour or parts, and completing checklists for events such as MOTs and repairs.

Workshop managers benefit from a KPI dashboard, customisable user permissions and the ability to apply actions across multiple job items to improve efficiency. Jaama has created the app to be compatible with Windows, Android and Apple tablets, laptops and computers. The new app adds to Jaama’s range of fleet management solutions.
