Ryder has supplied drainage product distributor JDP with seven DAF CF75.330 26 tonne dropsides and two 18 tonne LF55.220 dropsides all with Atlas 135A radio remote control cranes.
The deal represents a £1.5m investment for Carlisle-based JDP which has 60 vehicles in its delivery fleet - all supplied by Ryder - that operate from 27 UK branches. Transport supervisor at JDP Jayne Bar said the cranes are able to switch between hook and brick grab operations to offer flexibility on site while offloading.
“Safety is a core value in our organisation, and we supply and deliver to clients in the civil engineering, housebuilding, and agriculture sectors, where safety management is equally a fundamental value”, she said. “Our drivers can operate around the vehicle when unloading, rather than being stuck in one place with a limited view.”
In 2016, JDP achieved FORS Bronze standard accreditation and is currently working towards its Silver standard. All additions meet the FORS Silver standard. Bar said: “Our partnership with Ryder gives JDP an enormous advantage, especially with our built-in maintenance agreement. This assists with a FORS requirement for the maintenance programme to be scheduled at least 15 months ahead.”
