Road planing specialist Jet Plant Hire has taken delivery of six new Volvos from Truck and Bus Wales and West - five FMXs and one FE rigid.
The FMX 6x4s, which haul platform trailers containing road planing equipment, come with Globetrotter cabs, Volvo D13K engines producing 460hp and Boweld TaperLite HD tipper bodies. They also feature X-High rear air suspension and N3G straight front axles for increased ground clearance levels.
The FE 4x2 rigid has a standard height chassis, all-round steel suspension and a Volvo D8K engine producing 280hp, while a waste container body comes with cable lift equipment by MHF (UK). All feature I-Shift automated transmissions and Gold Contract R&M maintenance agreements.
Safety equipment on all six trucks includes factory-fitted lower passenger door glazing, all-round camera systems and side scan left turn warning systems. Sean Witheford, MD at the family-owned company based in Evesham, said: “We have an excellent working partnership with Volvo that stretches right back to our first truck.
“Location is also important and our nearest Volvo Truck and Bus Wales and West dealership is just 200 yards away in Evesham,” he added.
