Jobs to go at Stobart Workington depot

Eddie Stobart, the transport division of Stobart Group is to cease running a dedicated fleet of vehicles from its Lillyhall depot in Workington, Cumbria, putting 15 driver jobs at risk.

Lillyhall has 500,000ft₂ of blocked and racked ambient storage space.

A statement from the company says: "Following a review of the company transport network, and in particular the work carried out by our specialist fleet, it is proposed that Eddie Stobart will cease to operate a fleet of vehicles from the Lillyhall depot.

"The proposal affects 15 employees, all drivers, and, as there are a number of other driving opportunities within Eddie Stobart, we will endeavour to ensure all those affected are offered suitable alternatives."
