Entertainment logistics specialist KB Event has spent £1m on 12 new Euro-5 vehicles. The Nottingham-based firm has purchased five new Scania tractor units with Euro-5 SCR engines, and seven mixed-make rigids, including a trio of 26-tonners.

KB Event provides transport, warehousing and shipping services for music tours, road shows, product launches and corporate events. Clients include Red Bull, Paul McCartney, Microsoft, the BBC and English Heritage. Director Leanne McPherson says: "We have invested heavily in our fleet of vehicles to ensure we are as environmentally responsible as possible."

In May 2008, KB Event became the first UK-based transport company to be successfully registered to the Acorn Environmental Standard BS8555. "The environmental issue is not going to go away and I believe that businesses achieve more both for themselves and their customers if they conduct their operations in an environmentally friendly way out of choice, rather than necessity," says McPherson.
