Klarius Group is to invest £850,000 as part of plans to improve its UK logistics operation and accommodate an expanding customer base.
The car parts manufacturer, with subsidiaries located across Europe, runs its distribution operation in-house. It says the money will be used to finance new HGVs, loading equipment, software and training for its Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent DC, where the firm has an O-licence for 17 vehicles.
New customers in the UK, alongside an increase in export volumes, are the reasons behind the investment, the company says.
Paul Hannah, international business development director for Klarius Group, says: "Same-day delivery that can be relied upon 100% by our customers is a cornerstone of our business growth.
"Operating our own fleet and managing our own logistics enables us to guarantee the reliability of delivery that is so essential to our customers. The investment also allows us to improve efficiency while also retaining delivery flexibility," he adds.
