Kuehne + Nagel (K+N) has signed an agreement to run a furniture home delivery service for British Home Stores (BHS). The company will provide storage space at its shared-user facility in Dove Valley, Derbyshire, as well as a delivery and assembly service for customers, as part of the contract.

K+N will also manage a call centre for the retailer to handle customer service queries, including the booking of deliveries.

Mick Church, business unit director for home delivery at K+N, says: "We are committed to supporting BHS with the highest levels of quality and innovation at this exciting time in the development of their home furnishings business."

K+N, which has more than 20 years' experience in furniture home deliveries, would not comment on the length or value of the BHS deal.

James Irons, BHS head of trading for homestores, says: "For our home deliveries of furniture we needed a logistics partner that could offer both the capacity to handle our growing volumes and the highest standards of customer care.

"Kuehne + Nagel's wealth of expertise in this area and its ability to provide a nationwide service were also deciding factors."
