Focusing on sustainability, digitalisation, automation and electrification, Krone showcased its latest innovations at IAA Transportation. On display outside was its new Aucos box liner container chassis generation, unveiled for the first time at the event. The Aucos box liner can be pre-adjusted automatically for container loads from 20ft to 45ft. It can also couple and uncouple automatically, encompassing Krone's automation theme.
The company created an immersive experience with a resource wall displaying the materials used in Krone trailers including steel, wood, rubber and blasting granulate. This was accompanied by Krone’s sustainability strategy. Krone’s digitalisation area highlighted Krone smart assist which now maps the electronic consignment note eCRM. The system can report the technical status of the trailer to Krone telematics from any location using a QR code on the trailer.
On the electrification front, Krone shone a light on its eAxle used in the eTrailer. This vehicle reduces CO2 emissions and fuel consumption by up to 50%. The eTrailer was stationed on the next stand with partner Trailer Dynamics.
Krone 360° Trailer Service also introduced its expanded tyre range including an online tyre shop and Krone truck parts. The Krone KT231, trusted tyre comfort is the company’s new tyre product which has a load capacity of 5-tonne, robust construction, reinforced carcass, and widened tread. It has a ‘B’ label for rolling resistance. The KT231 is suited to regional and long-haul applications and has a 3PMSF symbol for safe operation in winter conditions. It’s also available with a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Continuing the tyre theme, Krone exhibited its R-Tyre. This is its retreaded tyre in size 385/65 22.5. Supporting sustainability goals for the Krone and the operator, retread tyres allow caracasses to be reused to give the tyre a second life. The online shop has a tyre area where customers can filter by manufacturer, tyre width, aspect ratio, and rim diameter.
