Calais has a new secure truck parking facility after the opening of a new 135 space site called La Londonienne Secure Truck Park.

“Calais is a central hub for HGV traffic, and we want to provide the most secure and comfortable truck parking facility in the area," said Jean Pierre Devigne, founder and CEO of RDV Transport who has worked with Snap for the launch of the new site.

La Londonienne opened on 1 March with 135 truck parking spaces, showers, toilets, laundromat and cooking facilities as well as new security infrastructure installed by Snap Access & Security.

"We are looking forward to welcoming truck drivers from across Europe, including Snap customers and providing them with our high level of facilities," Devigne said.

The site has front and rear ANPR cameras to monitor vehciles entering and exiting the site. There’s also internal and external CCTV cameras and three-metre fences, while the site is patrolled by five security guards with guard dogs.

RDV Transport first started working with Snap in 2020, paying with Snap Account's smart-payment system at sites in the UK.

"Our drivers must use Snap Account when they are in the UK for security reasons, so we always advise them to find Snap locations," explained Devigne.
