The UK’s largest Renault Trucks dealer group, Renault Truck Commercials, has announced a new structure, separating into two regions. West England & South Wales, and Greater London & South East England will be led by newly appointed general directors Steve Astill and Paul Irving respectively.
The changes in company structure and new leadership are designed to improve service across the Renault Truck Commercials dealer network. The new general directors will work under Carlos Rodrigues, MD of Renault Trucks UK & Ireland.
Rodrigues said: “The new regional structure for Renault Truck Commercials, and the appointment of our strong new leadership team, marks a forward-looking milestone for Renault Trucks’ Retail organisation in the UK, unlocking the full potential to meet ambitious growth targets and deliver unparalleled value to customers. We are delighted to welcome Steve and Paul, who both bring a wealth of experience, expertise and regional knowledge to their roles.”
Astill first joined Renault Trucks in 2007 working at RH Commercial Vehicles before starting at Renault Truck Commercials in 2020. At RH Commercial Vehicles, Astill spent five years as a dealer point manager followed by nearly five years in aftermarket management roles. With Renault Truck Commercials, he’s held roles including region parts manager and head of aftersales West.
Irving’s background includes 15 years in charge of the HTC Group, a DAF dealership owned by the Ballyvesey Group. This is his latest experience in a career spanning more than 30 years in the commercial vehicle industry.
Alongside the creation of two distinct regions, Renault Truck Commercials now has a separate rental business, Rental+. Andy Taylor has been appointed as the director for the rental company and will report to Carlos Rodrigues. Rental+ is a franchisee of Vertellus and will work with the newly-created Renault Truck Commercials regions to offer rental solutions to customers across the dealer network.
