Lego trucks its way out of recession

Not quite the green shoots of recovery, more the green bricks of recovery.

Last week toymaker Lego reported a 23% rise in its sales around the world for the first six months of the year.

Even better, the company saw its UK sales rise 20% in the same period. Not bad work if you can get it.

Lego, which supplies its goods directly to toy shops on an own-account basis, gets its name from combining the Danish words 'leg godt' meaning 'play well'.
