Les Hughes & Son has begun its fleet replacement programme with a new Renault Lander 6x4 drawbar for use on its timber haulage operation.

Tony Hughes, director at the firm, says: "We've been looking at the Renault Premium Lander for a while now. We felt that it would be a good replacement for the Fodens we previously ran.

"It's a good, honest, hardworking vehicle. We have been very pleased with the Renault Lander's performance to date, which is why we are strongly considering placing an order for more vehicles as we continue our replacement programme."

Following the delivery of its new vehicle, the Newtown, Powys-based firm has placed a second order for an identical model.
