Rubgy-based logistics firm Lloyd Fraser says it is on target to post strong results for the year ending August 2007. It says turnover will be in the region of £85m, with pre-tax profit of around £2m. Two years ago (2004-05) its results suffered after two customers went under while still owing substantial sums.
Neil McConchie, chairman and managing director, says this year has seen strong trading: "We made a very good recovery in 2005-06 and the pleasing thing this year is that we have maintained that position." The firm has recently embarked on an ambitious growth plan to boost turnover by 10% year-on-year.
McConchie adds: "We have fought shy of acquisitions in the past, but they are a strong contender for growth going forwards." The company is also looking to expand its warehousing portfolio it is sear-ching for a 50,000ft2 site in the Lichfield, Staffs area and hoping to either expand its 20,000ft2 Scottish operation in Perth, or move to a new, larger site in Bellshill, Lanarkshire.
Lloyd Fraser has renewed its contract with Manor Bakeries for three years in a £30m deal.
