The Lowland Rescue team from Warwickshire Search and Rescue could be found educating show visitor on their valuable work in locating vulnerable people in the county.

Exhibiting alongside Midlands Truck & Van, who supplied their latest Incident Control Unit built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, Lowland Rescue were hoping to find £20,000 support for a new van used to transport equipment used to support the searches for high risk people, including those with at risk of injury or loss of life.

“Everyone has heard of Mountain Rescue, but no one has heard of Lowland Rescue, so we’re trying to raise the profile of what we do and raise sponsorship for support for the team by either supporting us for the year, or the vehicle costs,” explained Ian Mallins, chairman of Warwickshire Search and Rescue.

The Lowland Rescue teams of unpaid volunteers attended 65 callouts last year, volunteering directly for Warwickshire Police, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service, and West Midlands Police, utilising a drone team and specialist kayak search team.
