Lymm Truckwash has invested £2.3m in a relocation process that sees the business move 100m from its current location.

The family-owned Cheshire-based firm is currently located just off junction 20 of the M6 and junction 9 of the M56, near Warrington, and will move to the opposite side of the A50 this autumn.

MD of Lymm Truckwash, Laura Cardwell, said: “This is an exciting move for our company. We’re investing £2.3m into the new site to make sure we continue to provide the excellent service our customers are used to and expect.”

The decision to move was made in March 2016 after Lymm Truckwash wasn’t able to extend its lease of land within Lymm Services beyond December 2019. After carrying out market research, 80% of its customers were found to only use the washing facilities without going into the services, which provided Cardwell the confidence to secure planning permission for a new and independent site.

“The new facility will feature state-of-the-art WashTec washes, alongside a bespoke pressure washer system and payment system with automatic number pate recognition (ANPR). The site will also be quicker and easier for our customers to access from the motorway because they’ll no longer have to enter and exit Lymm Services,” she added.

This will add to the recent rebranding and launching of Lymm Truckwash’s website, which features regular updates on the relocation process.

“We’ll continue at our current site until we’re ready to open the new premises in the autumn,” added Cardwell. “Our customers can expect a seamless transition with no shutdown of our wash facility.”

The company currently washes 62,000 trucks per year, with fleet customers including BP, DHL and AW Jenkinson.
