Mac’s Trucks says its new facility in Huddersfield has made the business more efficient and given it the space to grow.

The firm, which specialises in sale, rental and modification of crane trucks, hook-loaders, beavertails, plant vehicles, removal vehicles, skip trucks and tipper grabs, moved from a 32,670ft2 site in nearby Outlane at the end of last year. Its new 7.2-acre headquarters in Crosland Road, Huddersfield, has expanded the number of work bays it has from six to 15 and now includes an MoT test lane, tachograph centre, workshops with overhead cranage, a purpose-built body shop and paint centre.

Adrian McDade, owner of Mac’s Truck Sales, said the company can now store about 100 vehicles on site. “The move has helped increase our professionalism, made our processes more efficient and streamlined what we do. Since we’ve moved here, we’ve seen more footfall through the door and we want to see this continue.”

McDade also said the company’s new office facilities will enable it to eventually develop a school for crane training. “We usually give our customers initial training as standard but an in-house training centre will allow us to provide top-up training”, he said.

“The training will be free-of charge to customers who buy our trucks and they will be invited to train on a Saturday morning."
