Dungannon, Co Tyrone-based McCaffrey Transport has taken delivery of its first new MAN, having previously had two second-hand vehicles from the manufacturer’s TopUsed programme.
The TGX 26.500 6x2/2 tractor unit with XXL cab, 6-cylinder 12.4-litre engine and TipMatic 12-speed gearbox, comes with a full Gold repair and maintenance contract. It will carry out work across the UK and Ireland as well as trips to the continent.
McCaffrey Transport operations manager Owen McCaffrey said: “This MAN TGX is earmarked for European work, and its Euro-6C engine ensures increased reliability and decreased downtime. Our local dealer [RK Trucks] is close to our yard, which is a bonus for dropping and collecting trucks.
“It offers flexibility when booking periodic maintenance inspections, which is vital when such a small window of opportunity is available.”
