Ontime Automotive's Specialist Transport Division has purchased a non-Mercedes-Benz product for the first time in five years simply as a way of avoiding SCR technology.
Commenting on the eight Euro 4 MANs it has taken delivery of, commercial director Alan Stuart tells MT that the company went down this route because it wanted to avoid AdBlue "and the issues associated with storing it". He says: "It's just another function that the driver has to perform. You have to trust them to put it in the tank."
The new trucks, a mix of six TG-A 18.444 tractors and two TG-M 15.284 rigid drawbars, have been registered, but Ontime Automotive is waiting for the delivery of its new Belle Coachworks enclosed trailers before they can be put on the road.
