MAN’s new TGX has been crowned International Truck of the Year 2021.

The German manufacturer’s flagship truck, which was launched earlier this year, fought off a strong challenge from the new Volvo FH.

The prestigious award was handed to Andreas Tostmann, CEO of MAN Truck

& Bus, during a virtual ceremony that took place at MAN’s Munich headquarters today (23 November)

Summing up the jury vote, International Truck of the Year chairman Gianenrico Griffini, commented: “With the introduction of the new TGX, MAN has delivered a future-oriented heavy-duty truck range, able to answer today’s and tomorrow’s transport needs.”

UK jury member Will Shiers added: “MAN’s new TGX represents a giant leap forwards in terms of both safety and driver comfort.  What’s more, it looks fantastic. The external styling is bold, but it’s the interior where the new MAN truck generation really excites. MAN has clearly involved drivers in the design process, and there are so many clever little driver-friendly touches. I’m particularly fond of the Smart Select button, which is incredibly easy and intuitive to use.

“Throw a fuel economy improvement into the equation too, and you’ve got a worthy winner of International Truck of the Year.”
