Scania dealer West Pennine Trucks is to open a Vehicle Related Services (VRS) truck and trailer parts operation at its site in Trafford Park this month.

The North West’s largest independent Scania dealer will offer product lines for a wide variety of vehicles, trailers, tail-lifts and bodies of all makes including braking, filtration, transmission, steering and suspension.

VRS is a Scania GB-owned distributor that stocks more than 100,000 lines of non-Scania OEM or OEM-quality components and provides same or next-day delivery.

A team of drivers and customer account managers will be employed.

VRS products are available through Scania’s UK network of 89 dealerships and complement the manufacturer’s own parts programme.

Richard Gilliland, aftersales director at West Pennine Trucks, said the VRS facility will provide extensive coverage across Greater Manchester and beyond into the Peak District, Staffordshire and Shropshire.

“We aim to deliver an unrivalled off-the-shelf parts solution for all makes of trucks and trailers to transport operators and repairers, becoming their comprehensive commercial parts one-stop shop factor,” Gilliland added.

At this year’s CV Show Scania announced an extended range of truck and trailer parts, lubricants, chemicals and workshop consumables for its VRS range.
