From 1 June Mark Johnston (pictured) will take over as managing director at Aquarius IT.
This year is the company’s 20th anniversary and its co-founders Guy Reynolds and Dave Bailey have been planning this restructuring of the business. Reynolds and Bailey will step back from daily management of the company and support Johnston as board members.
Johnston has been a director at Aquarius for nine years and was instrumental in the launch of the company’s Asset Maintenance product five years ago. With more than 20 years experience in the tachograph industry, from an analyst to senior management roles in sales, customer service and technical support, Johnston is well positioned to take on this new title.
Bailey said: “Handing over the reins to Mark is a moment of great pride for Guy and I. We both have an inordinate amount of confidence in Mark, who we have worked with for several years in preparation for this move. Importantly for us, he understands the company and our customer ethos, and he has the vision, and skills to steer the company to new heights.”
Reynolds added: “Mark has the support, and trust, of the whole Aquarius team, and this transition will ensure continuity in our company’s values and ambitions, and paves the way for even more new opportunities and innovations which will benefit our customers.”
Johnston said: “This promotion is not just a significant milestone in my career but also one for our business, and I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me by Aquarius. I am truly excited to embrace this new role and the responsibilities it entails; and with a great team around me, and with great customers and partners, I am looking forward to continuing to develop our market leading position, and bringing even more value to our customers.
“Sustainability and innovation will continue to be at the heart of what we do to ensure we always stay ahead of the technical and compliance curve, and can continue to provide real digital solutions that help and support all of our customers in road transport.”
Elsewhere in the company, Neil Chetwynd has been promoted to director of development and Liz Haselden has been appointed director of marketing and operations. Johnston and the team will be at the Road Transport Expo from 4 to 6 June on stand G40 where Aquarius will be demonstrating its suite of integrated compliance solutions.
Aquarius will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo, which takes place at NAEC Stoneleigh between 4-6 June. Registrations are now open, so book your free place now!
