Mercedes-Benz Truck and Van (NI) staff won a high-performance track day when they helped a driver get back on the road quickly.
The team assisted a German driver who turned up at its Dungannon, Co Tyrone depot with damaged air suspension to his Actros tractor unit, just four hours before his ferry was due to depart.
Despite the driver not being able to speak English, the team ordered parts from the dealer’s headquarters in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, 45 miles away, which arrived in an hour.
They fitted a new airbag and repaired the damaged pipework, which meant the driver made his sailing in plenty of time.
The manufacturer’s One Team prize is a day at the Mercedes-Benz World complex in Brooklands, Surrey.
