Mountain Transport, the transport division for Lincolnshire-based Mid UK Recycling, has put two Renault Range T460 6x2s on the road.
Supplied by Thompson Commercials in Boston, they have moving-floor hydraulics and are coupled to two Legras FMA15 moving-floor trailers. They also have load indicators that show both the unit and trailer weights on the dashboard.
The trucks join a 70-strong Scania-dominated fleet and will be used to collect waste residues from across the UK. Fuel efficiency, driver acceptance, service and downtime will be assessed alongside Mountain’s Scania and MAN units.
Transport director Nick Mountain said a positive experience with a Renault Premium, a favourable demonstration of the Range Ts, and a “great package from Thompson Commercials” influenced the company’s decision.
