New CEO for LDV

Evgeniy Vereshchagin, who joined the board of LDV in December 2007, has been appointed as the company's new CEO. Sergey Zanozin, chairman of parent company GAZ Group, says: "Evgeniy's appointment reinforces the commitment from GAZ Group to the development of LDV. "This year will be a challenging year for the business with the implementation of Maxus production in Russia, the introduction of GAZ lean manufacturing systems at Drews Lane, Birmingham, and our plans to increase Maxus sales in the UK and Europe by 50%."

Vereshchagin says: "I am delighted to be taking up this appointment at a exciting time in the development and growth of the LDV business. LDV has made good progress under the stewardship of GAZ in product development, manufacturing and sales. Our challenge now is to maximise the growth potential across the business portfolio."
