New face at logistics consultancy Gideon Hillman

Logistics consultancy Gideon Hillman Consulting has appointed Frenchman Christophe Evo to its senior consultant team.

Evo joins the team to support the firm's 'hands-on' approach in advising clients on logistics strategy development.

He holds 17 years' experience in multi-temperature distribution and warehousing. His last position was as head of distribution at RHM Frozen Foods, part of the Premier Foods Group.

Managing director Gideon Hillman says: "Christophe is a great addition to the team and has an excellent understanding of the end-to-end supply chain management."

HGV drink-driver jailed and banned from road

An HGV driver found to be nearly double the legal alcohol limit when he crashed on a Highland road has been jailed for four months. At Inverness Sheriff Court on 18 December, driver Samuel McNab of Linwood, Paisley was also given a four-year driving ban. On 24 November, McNab crashed his 44-tonne artic in Drumuillie on the A95 between Aviemore and Grantown. Police said he demolished 50 yards of fencing.
