A new Gossington truckstop will open next Monday on the A38 between Gloucester and Bristol - on the site of the old Gossington truckstop, which closed some years ago. The site, which has been completely revamped, provides secure parking for 50 LGVs with barrier-controlled access, security fencing, CCTV and regular patrols.

Manager Tony Armstrong, says: "The site was originally not bought for that purpose (it was originally just for Milbury Commercials). The main aim with the truckstop is to maintain high standards." Facilities include a new kitchen, dining room, toilets and showers, as well as a general store and a cash machine. Food will be served from 5.30am to 8.30pm with a bar until 11pm for drivers staying the night.

Armstrong could not confirm the price of overnight parking except to say that it will include a meal voucher. But parking will be free for the first two hours, which will be good news for drivers stopping for compulsory breaks.
