Mark Cuskeran is stepping down as chief executive officer of Retlan Manufacturing - parent company to SDC Trailers - after 10 years in the role.

He will be replaced on 1 July by Enda Cushnahan who is currently chief operations officer. In June last year, Chinese trailer manufacturer CIMC Vehicles acquired Toomebridge, Co Antrim-based Retlan Manufacturing for an undisclosed sum, and subsequently, it says, business has been “excellent”.

Last October, SDC won a contract to supply products to the Kanoo Group in Saudi Arabia, while the following month Knights of Old added 34 trailers worth nearly £1m to its fleet. Early in 2017, Hireco ordered 750 semi-trailers worth £13.5m, while Woodside Haulage took delivery of 60 new 13.6m curtain-sided trailers.

Cuskeran said: “It has been a fulfilling experience leading the Retlan Group. I am proud that Retlan/SDC is well positioned in the marketplace.”

David Li, general manager and director of the board of CIMC Vehicles, said Cuskeran had made an “outstanding contribution to the success of the group during his 10-year tenure”.

“We are delighted that Enda has been appointed as the new CEO of the Retlan Group and we look forward to working with him,” he added.
