Katie Purcell has been appointed head of special trucks at Unimog. Based in Milton Keynes, but travelling all over the UK to visit customers and dealers, Purcell is responsible for sales in the special vehicles sector.
Purcell, who has worked in the automotive industry for the past decade, most recently as head of electric vehicles at Audi UK, said: “I am excited by the opportunity to set the strategy and expand the Unimog business in the UK. One of my first priorities will be to raise this halo product’s profile in the market, ensuring people understand what it stands for and appreciate what it offers.”
Purcell will report to Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK MD Mike Belk. “Katie brings a blend of experience as a manager of high-performing teams and an understanding of the automotive sector, and specific technical skills in product management and marketing. This will enable us to capitalise on the significant potential for Unimog in the UK,” he said.
Purcell replaces Bernhard Dolinek, who left Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK last year.
