Mercedes-Benz has revealed its new luxury pick-up truck. The Mercedes X-Class will be available with a 2.3-litre engine as well as a 3-litre V6 when it goes on sale later in the year.
Pre-orders for the new truck have already seen more than 600 deposits put down for the mid-sized pick-up that will be a direct rival to the Volkswagen Amarok.

Three model types will be available, Pure, Progressive and Power, with the most luxurious of models featuring chrome highlights to the body and leather seats and interior. Taking its lead from the C-Class and V-Class passenger cars, the new X-Class will look to combine luxury and comfort with hard work.
Based on the Nissan Navara, the X-Class gets the same load carrying abilities as its sibling, but will instead compete head-on with rival Volkswagen when the V6 engine option is added to the range later next year.
The X-Class uses front and rear coil springs, with a multi-link rear axle for a more refined ride than traditional pick-ups. It also features a large 8.4in touchscreen at the centre of its cabin, and will be available with a wealth of options to create the ultimate in luxury pick-up trucks.
