Mercedes-Benz Dealer Midlands Truck & Van has responded to customer demand by increasing workshop operating hours at its new dealership in Wolverhampton.

The service department at the £4m black country facility, which opened last spring, was initially open round-the-clock from 6am Mondays until Saturday lunchtime.

However, now, half a dozen technicians have also begun working 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.

From 1 November the dealership - next to the A454 at Bentley Bridge - will also become a fully approved tachograph centre, with four trained technicians providing installation, calibration and repair services.

Meanwhile MoT tests, which have been conducted on Mondays in the ATF bay by DVSA inspectors, will be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays as well from the New Year.

In addition, the company has acquired more land next door for extra parking space.

Jon Divers, dealer principal said: “This fantastic dealership represents the dawn of a new era for our Wolverhampton team.

“They had effectively become victims of their own success, as increases in vehicle sales and soaring demand for their after sales support meant they had outgrown their previous base in Willenhall.

“Our new dealership is the perfect platform from which to provide the class-leading levels of service that Mercedes-Benz truck and van customers are entitled to expect.”

Mark Elden, aftersales director said: “We’re committed to making our customers’ lives as easy as possible by providing them with a one-stop shop service.

“The response from operators to the very significant investments we’ve been making in Wolverhampton has been resoundingly positive.”
